A. The founding of English colonies in modern Massachusetts combined a strange mix of idealism and violence.
B. Miles Standish contributed important protection to the early colonies by using violence.
C. Benjamin Church provided vital leadership to protect the colonies during King Philip's War.
D. Despite all of this violence, the colonies were also founded on religious idealism.
E. It is important to understand the full history of these areas because this is what Americans generally consider to be our nation's beginning.

A. Miles Standish contributed important protection to the early colonies by using violence.
B. Standish and his men where after Corbitant because he thought he was they were trying to fight agaisnt the pisggrams. He ended up surrounding the wigwams and scaring the indains so bad that they were trying to get out anyway they could, they were trying to run out of the walls.
C. He killed Wicawaset when they invited him to dinner and he stabed him with his own knife.
D. Threatens mortan that he will kill him if he doesnt get rid of the colony. and the pilgrams dont agree with this.
E. all of this shows how Mile Standish was violient with eveything he did towards the indains. It provies how he was trying to protect the pilgrams. He also used violence to start the colony.

C. he also saved his 20 men and got them across the river, when there was around 300 men trying to kill them.
D. Benjamin tries and puts phlip on a post. he kills king phlip in the end, because he was a threat to the colony that he was trying to build.
E. Benjamin Church showed his leadership quilties when he takes over, and shows his men that he will protect them.
